For whom is the National Forum of Music intended?
For a humble music lover the big words in the introduction may be intimidating. Does such a great artistic institution open its doors to everyone, or is it intended only for VIPs and other representatives of the cream of society?
The mission of the National Forum of Music is to promote among the visitors to Wrocław and among the inhabitants of Lower Silesia the possibility of the most active participation in high quality cultural life and to inspire through art. This means not only passive participation, which comes down to receiving musical impressions and the resulting emotions, but also making available various forms of participation in the creative process. The NFM hosts a dozen or so ensembles whose members are recruited mainly from Wroclaw and its surroundings. Apart from periodically recruiting new members for all its music groups, the Forum has a very broad educational offer for the youngest enthusiasts of music and art. Here, children and young people are given the opportunity to participate in on-site and off-site workshops conducted by masters, which allow them to discover and develop new musical talents.

Technology and modernity in the service of spirit and emotions
The National Forum of Music very quickly shone brightly on the musical map of Poland and Europe. The uncanny, absolute silence, which was made possible thanks to the involvement of the most advanced achievements of acoustic art, architecture and information technology, is filled several hundred times a year with the perfect sound of all kinds of music. 1800 people in the Main Hall and several hundred in each of the other three chamber halls can enjoy the perfectly pure sound of baroque instruments or the electric sound of guitars and electronic instruments.
In order to achieve harmonic perfection, a special acoustic design was developed around which the architectural concept was built. This sequence enabled Arup’s acousticians to realise all their objectives without having to compromise on any of the existing limitations.
